MetalPrest Group — A New Era

Every project we undertake is backed by more than 40 years of history, innovation, engineering, and commitment.

MetalPrest Group operates where the most demanding industries need it, with a global perspective, international standards, and the solid foundation of a company that has spent decades building trust in the field.

“We are moving toward the future with the same values that shaped our beginnings: hard work, precision, and commitment.”

This is how our journey went:

1982

It all began in the El Socorro neighborhood of Carmen de Bolívar. Norberto Lucas Tordecilla Páez set up two machines in his own bedroom to launch what would become his business venture. While he continued working at SENA, a nephew served the first customers.

Early years

Customer confidence grew, and expectations rose. Norberto and his wife decided to sell one lot, buy a new one, and dive headfirst into the market. That property is now MetalPrest’s headquarters in Cartagena.

Growth

The small family-run workshop grew to become a leading metalworking company in the Colombian Caribbean, earning the trust of clients such as Ecopetrol, COTECMAR, Tenaris, Cenit, Ternium, and Mexichem.

Expansion

MetalPrest Group has begun operations in the La Candelaria Free Trade Zone in Mamonal, Cartagena, as an Industrial User of Goods and Services, and has established a headquarters in Houston, Texas, thereby strengthening its presence in international markets.

Today

Multinational Business Group With ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ASME, and National Board certifications, MetalPrest Group operates in the world’s most demanding sectors: Oil & Gas, petrochemical, mining, maritime, port, and shipbuilding.
